Decision review and governance for founders, executives and boards

Challenge the decision before you commit.
Seven independent seats. One honest verdict.

Describe a consequential decision. In minutes, seven independent perspectives return a verdict, the strongest case for proceeding, the cost of waiting, and exactly what would change the answer. You decide. We keep the record.

Seven perspectives. One verdict. Every dissent on the record.

What is The Voussoir?

The Voussoir is decision review and governance software. Seven independent AI perspectives ask the questions a well-run board would ask, challenge a consequential decision before it is committed, record their dissent and state what would change the answer. People decide, and the decision is kept in a tamper-evident record.

Board-level challenge, on demand

Not every decision can wait for a board meeting. Not every organisation has a board.

A well-run board does something most leaders cannot do alone: it questions a decision from several disciplines before it is committed. The Voussoir brings that challenge to any decision, whenever one surfaces. Seven AI perspectives ask what a good board asks. Can it be executed? What is the exposure? Where could approval or standing be lost? Will people and the market move as assumed? Can the organisation deliver it?

With no board

The challenge you would otherwise have to assemble: a hire, a deal, a raise or a pivot, tested at any hour, before you commit.

With a board

Examine the proposal before it reaches the table. The brief carries the dissent and the conditions into your board pack.

Advising others

Put a client's decision through the same seven disciplines before you scope the work or write the recommendation.

The Voussoir is not a board. It carries no authority, fiduciary duty or accountability, and its seats are AI perspectives, not people. It supplies one function a good board provides: structured challenge from several disciplines before a decision is committed. You and your people decide.

Proceed, but only on conditions.

The split is real: three seats support, four oppose, and two raise formal red flags about authority and resourcing.

The Governance Lens

Oppose85% · High
Formal Red Flag — threshold crossed

Authority and accountability are unclear before the mandate begins.

Perspective

The Council assesses that unclear decision rights and reporting lines materially increase the risk that the executive cannot deliver the intended mandate, irrespective of individual capability.

Strongest case for proceeding

The executive's apparent capability could help build the very controls and structure the organisation currently lacks.

Cost of inaction

Waiting prolongs reliance on existing leadership capacity and may lose access to this specific candidate.

What would change this seat's stance

A documented mandate with named decision rights, resources and an accountable owner.

Material risk

Unclear accountability could leave the appointment without the authority needed to succeed.

One system, not four tools

Challenge before. Govern during. Remember after.

Board portals store the paper. The Voussoir puts the decision under structured institutional challenge first, then carries it through approval into a permanent record. A decision can move from Council to Boardroom, and back to Council when the board needs it re-examined.

The Boardroom

Governance workspace included. Not an add-on, not a separate contract.

Most board software stores and distributes the paper. The Voussoir runs the decision itself: challenged before the meeting, examined in the room, resolved on the record, and remembered afterwards. Use it beside your current board portal, or on its own for committees that do not need a heavyweight one.

  • Board pack in one click

A print-ready pack for the meeting, built from the docket.

  • Tamper-evident record

Every step is time-stamped in a hash-chained history you can verify on demand.

Already use a board portal or a consultancy? Keep them. They distribute the papers and do the research. The Voussoir is the step before: it challenges the decision itself, and its brief can sit inside the pack you already send.

Every consequential decision deserves adversarial review. Most get none.

High-stakes decisions across boards, sovereign committees, and executive teams are typically made from a single point of view, without a structured channel for dissent. The Voussoir replaces that single view with seven institutional lenses that deliberate in parallel before a verdict is issued.

Frame it

State the decision in your own words.

02

How it works

Three steps from question to verdict.

Seven adversarial perspectives. One Council.

Each seat is a permanent lens with a question it never stops asking.

The Arch-Logician
Trust and adoption

"Will the wider market and the people around this decision move the way the plan assumes?"

The Compressive Analyst
Capital exposure

"What is the real capital exposure, and what does being wrong cost?"

The Fatigue-Gauge
Brand and standing

"What harm compounds quietly, long after this decision is made?"

The Governance Lens
Policy and legitimacy

"Where could approval or standing be lost?"

The Horizon-Surveyor
The underlying system

"What does the underlying system make possible, and what does this quietly foreclose?"

The Industrialist
Operational capacity

"Can the organisation actually absorb, resource and deliver this?"

The Placement Master
Execution path

"Where is the bottleneck that decides whether this plan survives contact with reality?"

Specialist councils

The seven core seats, plus specialists who know your sector.

Every decision is challenged by the seven permanent seats. For regulated and technical decisions, sector specialists join them: a clinical-trials risk lead for a drug programme, a zoning and entitlements lead for a development, a treasury lens for a financing. Specialist councils are available from the Pro plan.

You can also build your own seats and add your own reference documents.

Universal Integrity Framework

Built into the architecture, not bolted on.

The Voussoir operates under a Universal Integrity Framework. Certain categories of decision, those designed to extract rather than create value, or to harm rather than enable, fall outside the Council's scope. This is not a policy. It is an architectural constraint, evaluated on every submission before any seat is convened.

The Decision Ledger

Every decision on the record, and verifiable.

The Ledger keeps the framing, each seat's stance and confidence, the dissent, the human attestations and the resolution as a tamper-evident record. Decisions move from Council to Decision Room to Boardroom, and a board can send any decision back to the Council for a fresh challenge. Over time you see which risks your organisation keeps underestimating.

Questions, answered

Everything you need to decide whether to try it.

What is The Voussoir, in one sentence?

AI decision review: you describe a consequential decision and seven independent perspectives challenge it, state the strongest case for proceeding, and show what would change the answer, while you stay the decision-maker.

How long does it take, and what do I get?

Usually a few minutes. You receive a written briefing with a verdict, each seat's stance and confidence, material risks, any formal red flags, the cost of inaction, and conditions that would reverse the verdict.

Is this legal, financial or professional advice?

No. It is decision support. The seats are independent AI perspectives, not licensed professionals, and the decision remains yours.

Does it replace consultants, lawyers or a board portal?

No. A consultancy brings research and implementation. A board portal distributes papers and records votes. The Voussoir challenges the decision before you commit, and works in front of either.

Who can see my decisions?

Only you, plus anyone you choose to share a briefing with or invite to your organisation. Published Casebook cases are anonymised and only with consent.

What does it cost to try?

Nothing. The free plan runs the full seven-seat Council on your own decision, a few times a month, with no card.

Access

Start with one decision. Scale to the boardroom.

The full seven-seat Council is free to try. When decisions need to move through a board, committee or institution, the same Council sits inside a governed workflow.
